Govinda Rizal of BNS

Govinda was born and raised up in Bhutan. He completed high school from Sherubtse College, Bhutan, Bachelors of Arts from North Bengal University, India; Bachelors of Science (Agriculture) from the Institute of Agriculture and Animal Sciences (IAAS), Nepal, Masters and PhD (majoring in Plant Breeding) from Kyoto University, Japan. He worked as Post Doctoral 

Fellow in C4 rice Center at International Rice research Institute (IRRI), Philippines.
Rizal, one of the contributing editors of Bhutan News Service [BNS], is a Molecular Biologist and a Plant Breeder by profession. He works for C4 Rice Project where his responsibilities involve identification of C4 genes necessary to make C4 rice. Alongside his dedication for improvement of rice yield potential and eradication of poverty, he also finds time to write for BNS, the only autonomous news agency of the country. He writes on the social and international issues related to Bhutan.
