A 17-member Bhutanese business delegation led by the Secretary of Ministry of Economic Affairs, Bhutan Dasho Sonam met DCCI Senior Vice President M Shahjahan Khan and the Board of Directors on Tuesday.
DCCI Senior Vice President M Shahjahan Khan called upon Bhutan Investment Road Show business delegation to invest in power, energy and tourism sector in Bangladesh under Public Private Partnership Initiative. He also emphasized on reducing bilateral trade imbalance and increase trade volume between Bangladesh and Bhutan. He also said that connectivity both at the level of land, air and road is very important.
Leader of the delegation Dasho Sonam said, "The bilateral trade relation between Bangladesh and Bhutan should be further enhanced and bilateral meetings such as this type of business meeting will strengthen the relation between businessmen of both the countries." He suggested if required two flights in a week can be increased to a daily flight for further business promotion. Secretary General of Bhutan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Phub Tshering said Bhutan has offered different incentives to the foreign investors to invest in Bhutan and expressed their willingness to establish Chamber to Chamber linkages. DCCI Directors Rafiqul Islam Khan, FCA, Past Vice Presidents Abu Horaira, Ashraf Ibn Noor, Convenor Shoaib Chowdhury, Khair M Khan and DMD of City Bank Ltd. Sohel Khan took part in the open discussion.
DCCI Vice President Md. Sirajuddin Malik, Rafiqul Islam Khan, FCA, M Bashir Ullah Bhuiyan, Mahabub Anam, Md Nasiruddin Khan, M. Anwarul Haque were present at the meeting.
